Our score:
Overall:
5
PRICE: £529.00 YEAR: from 2021

The Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor is very easy to set up and when compared to other monitors such as Trackman and Skytrak, it can offer better value for money.

The device is very small and easy to transport to the golf course or the driving range and it is perfect for use in both of these environments.

The R10 launch monitor can be linked up to the Garmin Connect App which will give you access to a number of different games and practice features. This helps you to both enjoy golf and improve your game.

Not only is it fun to use, but it provides in-depth data and figures to show you where you excel in your game and which part of your swing needs adjusting.

The Details

The Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor is very quick and easy to set up and it is also simple to connect your Garmin Connect App.

We recommend that you download the app and set it up before you head out to the golf course, as it may need an update before you put it to full use.

On the Garmin Connect App, there are a couple of game modes that you can play such as Home Tee Hero, the Weekly Tournament, TruGolf E6 Connect and the normal driving range mode.

On the driving range mode, it simply tracks the shots that you hit. It gives you your total distance, carry distance and your ball's deviation in the air.

However, it also gives you in-depth data on the launch angle of your club, the attack angle, the club path and a number of other factors as well.

Ideally with any launch monitor, you need to place it on a flat surface for it to fully track your shots, but this is understandably not always possible.

The Home Tee Hero mode allows you to play rounds and holes at 42,000 different golf courses with your friends and family.

The ball-tracking is very accurate and the Home Tee Hero mode is a lot of fun and this enjoyment element is a key feature of the R10 launch monitor.

Verdict

A key advantage of the Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor is the durable battery life and the features that can be accessed through the Garmin Connect App are fantastic.

The accuracy of the ball-tracking is very good and as it can be used on the golf course and the driving range, it is ideal for practice and game improvement.

The launch monitor is very easy to set up and it is easy to connect the app. At £529, it is also significantly cheaper than its competitors such as Trackman and Skytrak.

If you want a device that can help you improve your game and also implement an element of fun, then the Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor is the one for you.
