Golf tips: Five of the best PGA Tour approved PUTTING drills to get much better

Tiger Woods once said he was just as captivated by putting as the full swing, adding: "That's why I practice putting so much."

Which is why we should take note from the greatest of all time and make sure we never get rusty with the flat stick.

Here at GolfMagic we decided to take at the litany of putting drills out there to find the best ones that are PGA Tour approved.

We found five and all you need is some tee pegs, a coin and an alignment stick.

The one-handed putting drill

Tiger Woods made this one famous. It's pretty simple and is widely regarded as one of the most effective. If Woods does this, then why shouldn't you?

Distance control using an alignment rod

Lag putting is pretty damn difficult. Those two-putts can quickly turn into three stabs. So find a hole and place a club or flag stick about two feet behind it. The goal is to have the ball finish in the hole or just past it, not touching the club or alignment stick behind it.

Coin on the putter head

Great for tempo and handy for those prone to suffering with a case of the yips. Renowned putting coach Phil Kenyon loves this drill. Here, Martin Kaymer demonstrates the drill.

Putting around the hole

Probably the most common drill you'll see at your club. Just place the tee pegs down and work your way around. You can choose when you get to call it a day. Here Patrick Reed demonstrates the drill.

This great counting drill

A great one for keeping your head still and making sure your action is repetitive. Here how really good putters all have this in common. Give it a try the next time you are on the putting green
