Guido Migliozzi talks to GolfMagic after his INCREDIBLE MAJOR DEBUT!

Hi GolfMagic Readers, Guido here! I hope you are well and that you all enjoyed the US Open at Torrey Pines last week.

I know I certainly did!

Having had 48 hours to reflect on a tied fourth in what was my major debut, I am extremely proud of my efforts and now cannot wait to build on this experience in my next major start at The Open at the famous Royal St George's in July.

It was a wonderful week at Torrey Pines from start to finish. It was a monster course and proved really tough from tee to green. The greens on the weekend were very difficult indeed and much firmer than on the first two days, so it was even more special to shoot 68 on a Major Sunday!

Heading into the final day six shots off the pace, I was just hoping to play solid and maybe edge into the top 10, so to end up finishing inside the top five made me very happy. My game feels good at the moment off the back of two runner-up finishes on the European Tour prior to my latest result, and I am eager to keep my foot on the gas heading into the Travelers Championship on the PGA Tour this week.

The top-five finish at the US Open now moves me up to 72nd in the Official World Golf Rankings and that is my best ever position so I took a lot of pride in seeing that on Monday morning! I'm also thrilled to learn I will be invited to play in my first-ever Masters Tournament in April 2022, which will just be a dream come true having watched it on TV for so many years!

I would like to say a big thank you to my family, caddie, coach, trainer, my sponsors Callaway, adidas Golf, Omega, Euro Select Golf and US Immigration Fund, and of course my management team Modest Golf who continue to provide me with such fantastic support while I'm on the road. I would also like to thank the European Tour for giving me the opportunity to play in the US Open in the first place, and also the USGA for organising such a fantastic tournament in San Diego.

Before I give you an update on my upcoming schedule this summer, I would just like to add my congratulations to Jon Rahm for winning the US Open. Jon has been playing some incredible golf for a long time now and deserves it after all he has been through!

As I write this report, I am currently preparing to tee it up at TPC River Highlands for the Travelers Championship on the PGA Tour. It's another world-class field this week so I can't wait to play again!

Coming up after that, I've got a big few weeks lined up including my first-ever Open Championship at Royal St George's and the news that fans will be allowed back is amazing. I love the buzz of the crowd.

I'm also delighted to confirm this week that I have qualified for my first-ever Olympic Golf tournament that will take place in Tokyo at the end of July. I grew up watching the Olympics on TV so to be able to say I'm going to become an Olympic athlete and represent my Italian nation is simply a dream come true. It will be another monster week but I will carry a lot of feelings and a lot of vibes during the week, so I can't wait to get over there and compete for a gold medal.

That's about it for my latest report but I'd just like to say a big thank you to all the GolfMagic Readers that continue to send me messages of support. Your constant good wishes and good vibes do not go unnoticed and they really do mean a lot to me.

As a little thank you to you all, my sponsor adidas Golf is going to give away one of the Camo Polo shirts I like to wear on Tour. If you would like to win this prize, simply head over to GolfMagic's Instagram and Twitter channels to enter.

Good luck with that, and I'll check in again with you guys after The Open.

Happy golfing.
