Hayden Buckley leads PGA Tour's Sony Open after stunning HOLE-OUT EAGLE!

Hayden Buckley will take a two-shot lead into the final round of the Sony Open after making two eagles in a third-round 64 at Waialae Country Club in Hawaii.

Buckley, 26, will take his first-ever 54-hole lead into the final round on Sunday as he goes in search of his maiden PGA Tour title.

The American hit one of the shots of the week when holing out from 120 yards for eagle on the par-4 10th.

Buckley then closed things out superbly when firing a long iron to within three feet for eagle at the par-5 18th.

It marked the third time in his PGA Tour career where he has made two eagles in a single round.

Buckley is ranked 203rd in the world.

Buckley finds himself at 15-under par and two shots clear of compatriots Chris Kirk and David Lipsky, and England's Ben Taylor.

Kirk, a four-time winner, last won on the PGA Tour back in 2015.

Lipsky and Taylor are also seeking to win their first title on the PGA Tour.

Andrew Putnam surged into contention with a best-of-the-day 62 to move himself up to 12-under par alongside former Players champion Si Woo Kim.

Will Gordon and Nate Lashley are a further shot back on 11-under par.
