Justin Thomas and Shane Lowry in hilarious exchange about Open "highlights"

Justin Thomas jokingly chided 2019 Open winner Shane Lowry after the Irishman posted his "highlight" of the week at St Andrews.

That highlight of the landmark major for Lowry was of course making back-to-back eagles at the home of golf.

It was a stunning few holes for Lowry and he vaulted himself up the leaderboard at the Old Course on Saturday and into contention.

However, it was not to be for Lowry after a tough finish on Saturday in which he made three bogeys on the back nine to end his chances.

Still, those pair of deuces at the par-4 ninth and tenth holes will live long in the memory for Lowry.

His drive on the 352-yard ninth wasn't his best. He missed the green short and left. From the wispy rough, the Irishman holed out from 43 yards.

Lowry did not stop there and he delighted the crowd again at the 386-yard par-4 tenth.

His drive went 323 yards on the firm and fast Old Course and this time his two was from 46 yards.

Lowry could not believe it.

Pretty incredible stuff, really, wasn't it?!

Lowry posted:

And JT replied:

And Lowry fired back with this. Boom roasted:

A tough weekend for Lowry...

Lowry ended up finished T-21 at the 150th Open Championship on 8-under par.

He lamented a rough weekend, telling the media: "It's been a tough weekend. I've never felt as good coming into a tournament like this. I felt like I could really -- this could be my week. It's not, so I'm obviously very disappointed. I'm going to have two weeks off now, and I'm going to go back to Ireland for a couple of weeks."

Justin Thomas also endured a hard week where he did not perform to his lofty expectations.

The two-time major champ finished on 4-under, tying for 53rd place.
