Rory McIlroy WITB 2022: What equipment did he use to claim CJ Cup?

Rory McIlroy returned to the top of the world rankings for the ninth time in his career in October 2022 by defending his title at the CJ Cup on the PGA Tour.

It marked a six month period where McIlroy, 33, was in supreme form. After capturing the RBC Canadian Open in June, McIlroy later became the FedEx Cup champion in August for the third time in his career when he won the Tour Championship at East Lake.

McIlroy took home $18m for that feat and appeared close to tears at Congaree Golf Club when he dethroned fellow TaylorMade staffer Scottie Scheffler from the summit.

The Ulsterman has been with TaylorMade since 2017. Earlier in the year, he penned a multi-year contract extension.

If you didn't know, McIlroy's irons are TaylorMade's "Rors Proto" muscleback blades that are based off the company's P730 irons.

The week he captured the CJ Cup, he ranked third in putts per green in regulation.

McIlroy has spoken on numerous occasions about the effort he has put into his putting. He uses the TaylorMade Spider X Hydro Blast
