WATCH: Tiger Woods best highlights from The Match with Rory McIlroy

Tiger Woods was not seen anywhere near his best as he teamed up with Rory McIlroy to a 3&2 loss to Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth in the seventh edition of The Match, but he did hit some rockets off the tee and strike some very solid iron shots.

He even birdied the 1st to tie the hole.

But it was Spieth and Thomas' day as the US Ryder Cup duo and best friends drained seven birdies between them to comfortably see off McIlroy and Woods.

Before it even began, Phil Mickelson broke his online silence to wish all four well.

Woods made it clear before he teed off that he had not struck a golf ball this month after having recently developed plantar fasciitis.

That forced him to withdraw from the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.

Woods' limp was extremely noticeable, as we expected.

Even during the pre-tournament press conference he was once again using a golf club as a cane.

But as we say, Woods did have his moments out there.

Woods' ball speed with the driver was even up around the 180 mph mark, which is quite incredible given his current fitness levels.

There was also plenty of trash talk.

Bleacher Report has put together a little highlights package of Woods' best moments in The Match.

Woods later said:

"The fact that we were able to do something under the lights that never before happened in our sport, to be able to grow it in a different way."

Woods will now turn his attention to the forthcoming PNC Championship where he will team up with his son Charlie Woods once again.

The 36-hole father-son tournament starts on Saturday December 17.
